September Monthly Goals + Free Background

September is here and, with it, the end of summer.

I find September to be so bittersweet as it’s warmth brings with it the last of days spent by the pool, late night cookouts with friends, and overflowing produce gardens. But as much as I love summer, I’m a fall gal through and through.

This month’s moodboard is a blend of modern and classic styles. Coming back from our Paris vacation, I’m still reeling from all the gorgeous architecture, breezy parks, and sunlit cafes. Now that I’m home, I’m welcomed back to our more Scandinavian/mid-century modern décor. We’ve already started updating our tv with picture frame molding to bring in a more classic style into our home, but I’m ready to blend the two styles even more throughout our home.

What’s your favorite décor style lately?

MONTHLY GOALS

1. CELEBRATE MY HUSBAND

Mike turns 30 this month!! In just 4 days actually! I have some fun stuff planned for his birthday, some of which will happen later in the month, so it will be a full month of celebrating this amazing man! I’m so so grateful to have him as my partner, especially after everything we’ve been through this year. And we have lots to look forward to in the coming year and I honestly wouldn’t want to go through life with anyone else. He is so kind, honest, patient, and loving. He cares for me, grieves with me, fights injustice with me, and always puts our relationship first. I honestly can’t wait to make this whole month all about him! Happy birthday, sweet husband!

2. PUT MY MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH FIRST

If you are an avid reader of my month goals, you know that mental and physical health is always something I bring up. Taking care of yourself is an on going process and honestly there’s no real end to this pursuit of being healthy. I’m perfectly okay with that! After having two weeks away in Paris last month my mental health is in such a better place. The time away gave us time to destress, decompress, grieve, and just be together. I want to make it a priority going into the end of the year to be cognizant of my mental health and taking time to check in on myself. Same goes for physical health. I’m back to counting my macros and checking my nutrient levels and we’ve brought the treadmill back out so that I can keep getting my steps in for the day. In Paris we were hitting 15,000 – 20,000 steps a day and, while I don’t think that’s doable with our daily work schedules, I do want to make an effort to keep physically fit.

3. CREATE FOR ME AGAIN

I feel like this is another goal that I bring up all the time, but it’s so important for creative people to find time to create just for themselves. As much as I LOVE my job and my clients, it can be draining to only create for others on and on. So as I’m rounding out my last three clients of 2021, I have my sights set on finishing my themes (finally) and creating things purely through my own filter and goals. I’m VERY excited about this and I know this will give me a chance to re-energize myself for the new year and new client projects to come!
